The Palestinian Circus School

Stemming from its belief of the positive and powerful impact of arts on strengthening the Palestinian identity, culture and creating a constructive, dynamic and fair society, the Palestinian Circus School (PCS) has had a leading role in the development of circus arts and spreading it throughout Palestine since its establishment in 2006.

The PCS targets children between the ages of 10 and 20 years of age in Birzeit, Hebron, Jenin, Jalazon and Al Far’a refugee camps. It currently has 84 male and 77 female students who train on a weekly basis. About 25 advanced students among these come together for a three-week intensive training program during the summer which results in a yearly production of the Mobile Circus Tour that reaches a minimum of 6 Palestinian cities.

The PCS also produces other student performances and professional performances with which it tours locally and abroad during the course of the year. The PCS currently has a total of 12 employees (5 administrative and 7 trainers).
